Yes, starting next year Nintendo will launch a video distribution service with Dentsu, the largest ad agency in Japan. The service will be launched only in Japan, the date for overseas countries have not yet been released.
Nintendo has sold more Wii Consoles then, Microsoft's Xbox 360, and Sony's Xbox 360 by selling over 35 million Wii Consoles worldwide.
The service will have programs that will be specifically for the service. The programs will be focus on cartoons (anime), and other entertainment.
To view some of the programs you will have to pay, while some programs will be free, which will contain ads.
