At its early days of release, iPhone performed okay and sold a pretty good number of units. However, it was not as top-selling like other gadgets hitting the market primarily because of its highly locked features and un-modifiable environment. However, because of Apple’s resiliency, the release of iPhone 3G with all the modifications and tweaks which the original iPhone failed to have, boosted the sales of this ultimate techie gadget. In fact, from a steady sale of about 1-2 million units or so, it has boomed its sale into 7 million units upon the release of the 3G model.

And with this instant superstardom of iPhone, more and more apps came into view; hundreds to thousands of them are being sold or available free for download. But which among these piles of stones are really worth keeping? Here is my personal Top 5 iPhone Apps List:

1. GOOGLE EARTH - It’s the world inside your pocket with the Google Earth Application. Search for places where you’ve never been, impress friends and colleagues with the highly techie features of this app, view 3D buildings, get to know directions and see streaming pictures of these places- all in one iPhone App.

2. PANDORA - this is probably the best radio application available for iPhone. It’s very personal and actually suggests artists and songs based on the users’ choice of music.





3. E-READER - this application is a free ebook reader which allows one to read various books using the iPhone. There is no need to bring piles and piles of books to read in your favorite hangout place, all you need is your iPhone and this application.





4. WORDPRESS - Love blogging? Almost every blogger would love to write blogs without the hassle of getting a PC and an internet connection. With an iPhone, you can easily type in whatever you want to write about and upload it for the world to read.





5. TAP-TAP REVENGE - I love Dance-Dance Revolution but it’s not every day that we get the chance to play in the arcade, unless otherwise, we got one in our homes. With Tap-Tap Revenge, moving with the beat is as easy as one-two-three!



An iPhone app is an essential tool in the iPhone- in fact, an iPhone would be so boring without any app. Bear in mind that not all apps are available for free- some are sold at reasonable prices so before purchasing one, make sure it would fit you the most and see to it that you’ll benefit out of this meager investment.
