The Asus AiGuru SV1 Skype Videophone is at last available on the market for the enthusiastic fans of the gadget. The Videophone is priced at around £219.95, at this price it can be called a little expensive but the phone offers its services with such precision that it might even be justified.
The Skype phone can directly be connected to your broadband internet connection to allow you to make Skype to Skype video calls which appear very clear on its seven inch LCD display that has a resolution of 800×600 pixels. The webcam also offers decent performance at 600×480 pixels resolution, which is better than quite a few integrated PC webcams.
Asus has been generous enough to supply everything that the user will need in the box itself, starting from USB and Ethernet to built in WiFi. The rechargeable battery of the Sv1 adds to the device’s portability; setting up is quick and very simple as well, just set the time and date, let the auto detection find your wireless connection, log in with your Skype username and password and you are ready to use the videophone.
Normal voice calls also sound loud and clear thanks to the high quality built in mic and speaker, also the interface is designed with simplicity in mind which has made the Asus AiGuru Sv1 a videophone that is easy to use and therefore will appeal to everyone. The arrow keys take care of navigation in the phone menu and there is not much more that you need to know about before using this phone to make video calls without the computer.
